SUMMARY:Hana Stretton
DESCRIPTION:We are stoked to be working with Jet Black Cat again to present Hannah Stretton with Alice Barlow. \n\n\n\nHana Stretton is an accomplished Australian-British multi-instrumentalist\, songwriter & producer. Born and raised on a farm in New South Wales\, Hana’s early life was steeped in natural beauty and isolation\, which has become the influence for much of her music. Her work reflects a deep connection to her roots. \n\n\n\nHana made her debut record\, Soon\, outside\, in still moments after fires and wild storms had raged through her home in the Australian bush. Completely isolated with just her beloved cows and a few instruments\, recording music became a way to pass the hours. The album was self-released in January 2023\, with a vinyl run by boutique Australian label brierfield flood press. The following year\, P.W. Elverum & Sun (the private press of Phil Elvrum aka Mount Eerie) re-issued a special edition vinyl\, selling out almost instantly. Upon release\, Elvrum explained his admiration for Hana’s music: “I hear an artist who has entered completely into the stream where creation originates […] Hana Stretton has truly recorded the deep flourishing sound of a quiet listening mind in full blossom.” \n\n\n\nAlice Barlow is a singer-songwriter\, composer and producer from South East London known for her captivating live performances. Drawing on folk\, indie and alternative influences – her dark guitar tones\, haunting vocals and unique ear for melody have built a loyal following in London and beyond. With new singles on the way\, she is set to release her eagerly awaited debut album on Domino Records this winter. This will be her first time in Australia. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGang Gang is committed to an inclusive and safe experience for all. Gang Gang Cafe is wheelchair accessible with accessible restrooms. We have zero tolerance for harassment and have support measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety. For specific accessibility needs or assistance\, please contact us in advance. We aim to make our events enjoyable for everyone. \n\n\n\nGang Gang Cafe acknowledges the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people\, the Traditional Custodians of the land where our events take place. We pay our respects to their Elders past\, present\, and emerging\, and recognise their enduring connection to this land\, waters\, and culture. We are grateful to celebrate music and dance on Ngunnawal Country.

SUMMARY:Happy Birthday Lost Souls! - Readings and Music
DESCRIPTION:Time flies in the realm of Lost Souls! Did you know we are one year old this winter solstice? \n\n\n\nWe invite you to help us mark the first year since our dark\, strange and beautiful birth with readings and music. Our performers will share a beguiling blend of horror short stories\, an “in character” short talk and weird poetry\, followed by music of bittersweet melodies and rhythms. \n\n\n\nThis night will also be a chance to acknowledge the creativity\, skill and persistence of all our amazing contributors and performers after our first twelve months of publishing and hosting live events. \n\n\n\nThe Lost Souls community features a diverse and wonderful variety of novelists\, short story writers\, poets\, illustrators\, painters\, singers\, songwriters\, script writers\, podcasters and many talented others from Canberra. \n\n\n\nMany in the Lost Souls community have seen great achievements this past year\, especially through our magazine. There have been nominations for short story awards\, appearances on ABC radio\, positive reviews\, re-publishing of our work\, our first digital publication from the magazine and many more. \n\n\n\nAnd\, of course\, none of this would have been possible without our lovely audience! \n\n\n\nAs our community changes and grows through the cycle of death and renewal with the winter solstice\, our performers will share with you work inspired by the shortest day and longest night of the year\, and our first birthday. \n\n\n\nFeaturing performances by Joseph Ashley-Smith (writer)\, P. S. Cottier (poet)\, Aaron Dries (writer)\, Kaaron Warren (writer)\, Dan Power (performer\, fine artist and science communicator) and Jenny Sawer (singer\, musician). Hosted by Fionn Macpherson from Lost Souls Magazine. \n\n\n\nYou can mingle with our performers and others from our lovely community as winter takes hold of Canberra.

SUMMARY:New York (USA) live at Gang Gang w/ Alias Error and Genie
DESCRIPTION:We are over the moon to be hosting NEW YORK on June 13th. \n\n\n\nTo have the incredible duo perform at Gang Gang is something we never imagined. NEW YORK is a girl-pop music and performance project by artists Gretchen Lawrence and Coumba Samba. The sampling of royalty free loops and sounds of clicks and cuts are met with chopped vocals and impulsive lyrics. NEW YORK chews up the sounds and visuals of hip hop\, pop\, and electro and spits them out on to the city streets. They self-released their debut album No Sleep Till N.Y. in 2022. \n\n\n\nIf you are unfamiliar with their music we highly recommend you have a listen\, and grab a ticket while you’re at it. \n\n\n\nAlso\, to have Alias Error on support makes all the more reason to come. Alias Error is the artist moniker of Berlin/ Sydney-based Australian singer\, songwriter\, and DJ Alia Sèror-O’Neill. She is best known for her work electronic/trip-hop duo a.s.o. alongside producer Tornado Wallace\, which released its acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2023. Since then\, Alias has worked with James K\, RIP Swirl\, Now Always Fades\, and has new works coming soon. Another incredible artist we are over the moon to have. \n\n\n\nDon’t forget\, we also have one of Canberra’s absolute best artists as well\, Genie playing their live set as second support. \n\n\n\nGrab a ticket before you can’t.

SUMMARY:Mr Disco Kid (JPN)
DESCRIPTION:Stoked that our friend Ross hit us up for this one. Mr Disco Kid will be such a fun vibe for a Sunday of a long weekend…bring back the Sunday sesh \n\n\n\nMr Disco Kid \n\n\n\nNever Mind the Balearics are over the moon to present Japan’s hottest vinyl DJ\, “record dealer to the stars” and all-round champion crate digger Mr Disco Kid (aka Kouki Shinada) for a long-awaited Australian debut\, this June long weekend. As a DJ\, his ability to surprise and delight as he jumps between genres is second to none. Combined with his emotional stage presence and infectious passion for music\, he’s won the hearts of discerning dancers  \n\n\n\nworldwide\, getting re-booked consistently at heavyweight clubs such as London’s Giant Steps\, where he’s played 7 hour sets in 2024\, 2025 and is booked again for 2026. A master discoverer and private dealer of rare records\, his archaeological digs through vinyl history have fueled some of the industry’s most revered tastemakers including Luke Una\, Floating Points\, Antal and The Mighty Zaff.  \n\n\n\nThe day before his visit to Australia in March 2026\, who else did Gilles Peterson (who Kouki-san calls his Sensei) head to for a holy grail record-buying mission in Tokyo?  \n\n\n\nMr Disco Kid’s long-format DJ sets build sophisticated bridges between complex layers of soul-jazz\, undiscovered global rhythms\, and the high-energy worlds of disco\, garage\, house and techno. As a trained pianist\, his musician’s ear guides his flow across genres\, pitches and tempos.  \n\n\n\nHis Tokyo residency is at Shinjuku’s legendary audiophile club DJ Bar Bridge. He’s toured Europe twice so far\, guesting at clubs in Germany\, France\, Ireland\, Spain and The UK. A sold-out show at Cosybox New Delhi kicked off 2026 as his biggest and most adventurous year of travel yet\, and he’s booked for Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here Festival 2026. Before hitting mainland Europe\, he’s playing another marathon at Giant Steps\, plus a night at what is arguably London’s hottest club\, Om in August

SUMMARY:Purelink (NYC) w/ Umki and Discobasis
DESCRIPTION:urelink is an ambient music trio from Brooklyn\, New York City. The group\, comprised of Ben Paulson\, Tommy Paslaski\, and Akeem Asani\, formed in 2020 and has been described as an “ambient boyband.” Their debut release\, the single Bliss / Swivel\, was self-released in 2021\, with both tracks later included on the 2023 EP To / Deep. More recently in 2025 their album Faith was released\, featuring Loraine James and others. \n\n\n\nThe trio began collaborating after Ben Paulson\, known professionally as Kindtree\, and Tommy Paslaski\, known professionally as Concave Reflection\, who had previously collaborated under the name All Light Hits U\, met Akeem Asani\, who had been releasing under the name Millia\, in 2019. They began playing music together in early 2020\, using Ableton Live to link their three computers over Wi-Fi\, which inspired the name Purelink. \n\n\n\nTo have them as part of their Australian tour is a real honour for us\, we’ve been very big fans of Purelink since their first release. To say the least we highly recommend coming\, sitting listening\, and getting to hear some very special music that is hard to come by. \n\n\n\nSupports from amazing Umki and Discobasis.

SUMMARY:Sex Mask
DESCRIPTION:Freshly returned from a US tour and just announced for the Sleaford Mods national tour\, we are stoked to be hosting Sex Mask at GG \n\n\n\nVague pop instilled with the ancient genius of your own blood. \n\n\n\nSex Mask holds the many trigger words your CIA handler doesn’t want you to know.  \n\n\n\nWe have several testimonials from fans attesting to semi-mystical experiences\,  \n\n\n\nsome claim it to be Deja vu from a genetic memory long dormant and locked\, \n\n\n\nOthers speak of foreshadowed flashes of a past life they are yet to have lived. \n\n\n\nAll of this\, incited after only seconds of exposure to any of our available songs. \n\n\n\nIs Sex Mask just another egregious attempt from delusional solipsists at being heard while saying close to nothing? Yes. But we make it look good. \n\n\n\nPart Taoist riddle\, part lone gun-mans manifesto.  \n\n\n\nWe are also a post punk/alt rock band from Melbourne.

SUMMARY:Cloud Ice 9 (MELB) w/ Olivia's World + edda | Gang Gang Cafe | pres. by SONIC BUSINESS LTD
DESCRIPTION:Join Cloud Ice 9 on their first East Coast Tour. Exorcisms of apocalypse musings with a peppering of labyrinth woe. Plus Olivia’s World and edda – down at Gang Gang Cafe. \n\n\n\nCloud Ice 9 emerge from the strange\, slow-burn creative fallout of Naarm’s long lockdowns. Formed in the barns and attic sharehouses where hours of tinkering on toy keyboards evolved into a fully-fledged “hive mind.” The result is one of the most adventurous and bewildering sounds in the post-COVID Antipodes. Difficult to pin down and even harder to predict\, Cloud Ice 9 twist familiar genres into something uncanny. Fragments of post-punk\, experimental pop\, and off-kilter grooves are warped by surreal storytelling\, robot voices\, and an ever-expanding palette of oddball instrumentation. Across releases like 8 Ball (2020)\, Circus St (2020)\, and Hocus Pocus (2023)\, they’ve built a reputation for crafting immersive\, otherworldly soundscapes. Their latest LP\, Globophobia (2025)\, is a darkly humorous\, sci-fi-tinged odyssey through the absurdities of modern life. \n\n\n\nStep into the hive mind. Cloud Ice 9 are not to be missed. \n\n\n\nOlivia’s World return to Canberra with their signature style of angular post-punk and dolewave-pop. In 2025 Olivia’s World debuted full-length album Greedy & gorgeous\, the band’s third release following their two EPs Olivia’s World (2019) and Tuff 2B Tender’(2021). In Greedy & gorgeous\, a quasi-concept album about desire\, Olivia’s World inhabitants deal with the woes of pleasure-seeking and a never-ending quest for beauty. \n\n\n\nedda is a new Canberra band led by Joel Neville (Optic Nerve\, Lower Body\, Oxen\, Lapse). The band is a family – made up of spouses\, siblings\, siblings-in-law\, childhood friends\, and ancient Icelandic origins.

SUMMARY:Dreamcastmoe (USA) w/ Samatar and naga raani
DESCRIPTION:We couldn’t be more chuffed to be hosting Dreamcastmoe. The Lost Tape series is worthy of a few spins and more. One not to be missed \n\n\n\nDreamcastmoe \n\n\n\nDreamcastmoe is a DJ\, producer\, and artist out of Washington\, D.C.\, making music that sits somewhere between R&B\, hip hop\, soul\, and whatever else feels right in the moment. Since dropping his Lost Tapes series\, he has been carving out a sound that feels personal\, loose\, and always evolving. \n\n\n\nHis music comes from real places\, his city\, his experiences\, the people around him\, and that honesty carries through everything he does. As things grow\, he stays focused on keeping it genuine and making music people can actually feel\, not just hear.

SUMMARY:Spellbound - Readings and Music (Lost Souls/Macabre Dreams)
DESCRIPTION:Would you like to try living deliciously? Want to gather with others venerating the gods of old? \n\n\n\nJoin us for a taste of witchy readings and music and to be spellbound at Gang Gang café on THURSDAY 07th MAY 2026. And help us celebrate the release of LOST SOULS Issue 03! \n\n\n\nOur storytellers will share readings inspired by that centuries old community of practice\, the “coven”. Americo Alvarenga and C. H. Pearce are to tell stories of benevolent authority and passive resistance\, and the morbid curiosity in hearing voices of the dead. Megan Cook will reflect on everyday rituals of magic. Imogen Wall will recite poetry inspired by how we make sense of magic. \n\n\n\nThe writers will be joined by singer and songwriter\, Maddie Jiang.
