SUMMARY:Day 13
DESCRIPTION:Naarm favourite Mabel returns to Canberra alongside the elusive live hardware project 5RT. Two artists making some of the most interesting\, psychedelic and dancefloor-focused electronic music in Australia right now. \n\n\n\nCome early\, support the scene and grab a ticket before you can’t. \n\n\n\nMabel \n\n\n\nKnown for her work across both visual art and music\, Mabel brings a distinctly psychedelic edge to the dancefloor\, moving between psytrance\, progressive house and minimal techno without settling neatly into any of them. \n\n\n\nShe has become one of Naarm’s most sought-after DJs and producers\, with appearances at Pitch Music & Arts\, MODE\, Zeerust and A3\, alongside European tours featuring sets for Mala Junta\, HORS-SOL\, HEISSS and Harmony Records. Her productions are just as distinctive: syncopated rhythms\, strange vocal fragments and hypnotic grooves released through labels including Step Ball Chain and Nehza Records\, as well as her own Doglandiya imprint. \n\n\n\n5RT \n\n\n\n5RT is an elusive live electronic project built around machines\, improvisation and deeply warped club music. Their live sets move through electro\, acid\, breaks and techno\, unfolding less like a conventional DJ set and more like a strange transmission assembled in real time. \n\n\n\nFollowing the release of Close Encounters in 2023 and Inconsistant Report in 2025\, 5RT has developed a reputation for unpredictable live performances that are tough\, playful and properly weird. Exactly what we want for Day 13. \n\n\n\nAlso\, please know we offer free Mob tickets\, and low income tickets are available as well – please email gigs@ganggangcafe.com.au to receive.

SUMMARY:Allegra Krieger (USA)
DESCRIPTION:Allegra Krieger is a songwriter\, composer & multi-instrumentalist based in New York City. She has released six albums to date\, the latest of which was described by Rolling Stone as “ten songs of heady philosophical meanderings packed with emotional dynamite\,” and likened her “finely phrased lyrics” to those of “Joni Mitchell\, Leonard Cohen\, and David Berman.”  \n\n\n\nNew York Times: “Deceptively understated songwriter” \n\n\n\nAquarium Drunkard: Krieger sings measured soliloquies recounting her memories\, observations\, and curiosities straddling the mortal and divine. Finger-picked guitars float like sunlight\, illuminating forgotten corners of the universe where Krieger finds inspiration. \n\n\n\nPaste: The NYC singer-songwriter’s fourth album skates with ease between cosmic surrealism and grounded\, conversational lyrics\, and its poetry is a well-oiled\, ghostly apparatus only she sees in full… Krieger’s poetry is a well-oiled\, ghostly machine.. and the music it produces is as heartbreakingly mature as inherited antique jewelry.

SUMMARY:#1 Dads
DESCRIPTION:Hello\, come and join me for my very first Australian shows as #1 Dads in six years. May it be merry and the first of many more. Much love x #1D \n\n\n\n#1 Dads is the solo project of Tom Iansek\, a valuable\, proudly independent fixture of the Australian music scene for over two decades as one half of the multi-award-winning Big Scary and No Mono\, and an in-demand producer (Maple Glider\, Kate Miller-Heidke\, The Paper Kites\, Ruby Gill\, Lisa Mitchell\, and more). \n\n\n\nAnimated by intimate\, understated arrangements and lyrical honesty\, #1 Dads is a perfect introduction to Iansek’s sonic authenticity and rich\, rewarding music. His gentle melodies and less-is-more production make for homely yet sophisticated pop songs that have seen the Australian-born\, London-based artist become an unassuming cult favourite\, beloved with fans and critics alike. \n\n\n\nDebuting as #1 Dads with 2011’s Man of Leisure\, Iansek further showcased his sincere\, quietly innovative songcraft with 2014’s ARIA-nominated About Face and 2020’s Golden Repair. Born of a period of dramatic upheaval\, Every Little Fire is the Melbourne-bred\, London-based artist’s most deeply personal record \n\n\n\nEvery Little Fire\, the fourth #1 Dads album\, due October 16 via Pieater. PRE-SAVE EVERY LITTLE FIRE HERE. https://1dads.lnk.to/EveryLittleFire \n\n\n\nThe record arrives six years after 2020’s Golden Repair and follows a period of profound personal upheaval – a transatlantic relocation\, a growing family\, the particular vertigo of dismantling one life and building another from scratch. “It was not an easy thing to do\,” Iansek says. “It has been an insane\, wonderful\, chaotic\, intense and joyful period of my life.” Every Little Fire\, in both title and execution\, takes that turbulence seriously. \n\n\n\nProduced and mixed by Iansek himself\, in small rooms\, including a DIY bedroom studio\, Every Little Fire reflects the conditions of its making. Imperfections were left in. Longer\, unvarnished takes. Tempo fluctuations. Breaths. The result is an album that sounds handmade in the best sense: intimate without being precious\, and honest without being confessional for its own sake.
