SUMMARY:Gang Gang Comedy - Anneli Cole
DESCRIPTION:Gang Gang Comedy – Anneli Cole\n\n\n\n\n\nGang Gang Comedy brings you the best comedians in the country. This September we have Canberra’s own powerhouse of humour\, Anneli Cole. Local supports will be the very funny Nick Starkey\, hilarious Bec Des and the unstoppable and wry Jacqui Richards. Your MC for the evening is the clever and sardonic Harris Stuckey.  \n\n\n\nAnneli is the answer to the question “what is the weird horse girl from high school up to now?” She is a self categorised as a “not learning from her mistakes kind of girl.” A chronic over-sharer who has a hard time thinking before she speaks. Anneli was described in all her report cards as “a delight to have in class but distracts others and is easily distracted”. Anneli has been active in the Canberra comedy scene for four years\, performing regularly as well as interstate in Sydney and the Riverina area. \n\n\n\n“Anneli’s powerful stage presence is matched only by her sharp writing and daring delivery” – BMA Magazine \n\n\n\n“Blending vulnerability with razor-sharp wit” – HerCanberra \n\n\n\nDoors at 6pm for a 6:30pm show start. \n\n\n\nTix $22 online Humanitix\, $25 at the door.

SUMMARY:Shock Corridor - Album Tour
DESCRIPTION:Naarm/Melbourne sextet Shock Corridor announce a national tour in support of their self-titled debut album\, due August 12. The run opens August 28 at Melbourne’s Thornbury Theatre and winds through Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory\, Canberra\, Adelaide\, Wonder Mountain Festival in Beechworth\, Castlemaine and Brisbane through late September with a one-off Sydney show at Phoenix Central Park on June 24 to preview the record in full. \n\n\n\nThe album was tracked over seven days at Soundpark Studios with producer Dan Luscombe\, a name synonymous with the last decade of Australian guitar music for his work with the Drones\, Amyl and the Sniffers\, Courtney Barnett and Floodlights\, and mixed by Aaron Cupples (Spiritualized\, Tropical Fuck Storm\, Kirin J Callinan). \n\n\n\nFormed in 2019 by six friends with backgrounds in classical strings\, jazz\, hip-hop and DIY electronics\, the band\, George (vocals\, guitar)\, Saskia (violin\, vocals)\, Joe (synth\, drum machine\, trumpet)\, Henry (bass\, trumpet)\, Ari (guitar) and Paddy (drums)\, refined a startlingly singular palette through long lockdown rehearsals before emerging onto the Naarm circuit in 2023. Their music borrows the spectral patience of the Dirty Three\, the trip-hop weight of Massive Attack and the pent-up theatricality that Australian post-punk seems to manufacture in unusual quantities. Songs build slowly; eruptions\, when they come\, feel earned. \n\n\n\nEarlier singles “Buster” and “Sheet Metal” pulled support from BBC 6 Music\, METAL\, ASBO and the Line of Best Fit\, while FBi Radio recently named the group their Independent Artist of the Week. In December the band sold out The Night Cat (650 capacity) at home and have shared stages with Bleak Squad at the Melbourne Recital Centre and Floodlights on the road. \n\n\n\n“We kept the record self-titled because it felt like the widest possible foundation of what Shock Corridor is. A lot of it was written while the world felt increasingly unstable — there was this constant feeling of helplessness\, but also a desire to stay connected to the people around you. The album lives in that tension.”

SUMMARY:Day 13
DESCRIPTION:Naarm favourite Mabel returns to Canberra alongside the elusive live hardware project 5RT. Two artists making some of the most interesting\, psychedelic and dancefloor-focused electronic music in Australia right now. \n\n\n\nCome early\, support the scene and grab a ticket before you can’t. \n\n\n\nMabel \n\n\n\nKnown for her work across both visual art and music\, Mabel brings a distinctly psychedelic edge to the dancefloor\, moving between psytrance\, progressive house and minimal techno without settling neatly into any of them. \n\n\n\nShe has become one of Naarm’s most sought-after DJs and producers\, with appearances at Pitch Music & Arts\, MODE\, Zeerust and A3\, alongside European tours featuring sets for Mala Junta\, HORS-SOL\, HEISSS and Harmony Records. Her productions are just as distinctive: syncopated rhythms\, strange vocal fragments and hypnotic grooves released through labels including Step Ball Chain and Nehza Records\, as well as her own Doglandiya imprint. \n\n\n\n5RT \n\n\n\n5RT is an elusive live electronic project built around machines\, improvisation and deeply warped club music. Their live sets move through electro\, acid\, breaks and techno\, unfolding less like a conventional DJ set and more like a strange transmission assembled in real time. \n\n\n\nFollowing the release of Close Encounters in 2023 and Inconsistant Report in 2025\, 5RT has developed a reputation for unpredictable live performances that are tough\, playful and properly weird. Exactly what we want for Day 13. \n\n\n\nAlso\, please know we offer free Mob tickets\, and low income tickets are available as well – please email gigs@ganggangcafe.com.au to receive.
